Cops & Batons
03:16
|
|||
Jack boots and a goose step fucking smile
A peer through the mask reveals but a child
Dressed up cosplay commando style
Advance on the order to run wild
There’s an occupation and they’re coming for us all
Watch while they storm this city and burn it to the ground
To save the statues from the fall
They’ll never break the spirit running through this town
Let the blood of tyrants spill upon its ground
Shoot first no knock is their battle cry
A peer through the ranks reveals a thin blue line
So defund, destroy their alibis
And fight back when they gin up so-called “crimes”

Break Me
03:21
|
|||
Shot down like a runaway criminal, hog tied hands wound up behind our backs
They cover our eyes with their promises, cut our tongues so we never talk back
We’re slaves to the notion of equal opportunity
Lined up like rats to the slaughterhouse, single file now marching into perfect time
The warden’s got his fingers on the kill switch, while the gallery stands around as we die
We’re slaves to the notion of independent family
Somebody break me, break me out from this lockdown
Feels like I’ve been buried here for too long
Somebody break me, break me from the cross I’m nailed to
I’ve paid for my sins for too long
We’ll do this our way, we’ll do this with no help from you
We’ll build this our way, we’ll build this with no help from you
Like chains we break, no gains are made
Its power and its pain force you to stay

On the Run
04:09
|
|||
Getting older feels like a dead end road
At a crossroads staring down selling my soul
Trying to move along
Yeah I’m on the run
Got a rocks glass full of tonic and gin
And a body that’s begging to forgive past sins
Yeah I’m holding on
But not for long
All the old folks say that words won’t ever cut you like a knife
But we all have scars to show off from the fight
Never ever let them get your number
Never ever let them break you down
Never ever let them tread on what you’ve made
Getting older feels like a dead end road
And these days it feels like I’m moving so slow
Will I fall apart
Or am I already gone
Now the lights flash off as the bars close down
It’s a long walk home through this dead end town
Yeah I’m holding on
But not for long
When it feels like you’ve been lost and everything that you once knew
Is dying off and turning black inside
Find a flame that’s shining constant like a brighter candlelight
Like a fire that’s been burning through the night
Burning bright

Me & The Gentleman
03:51
|
|||
I caught a glimpse of myself as an old man, me in maybe 45 years if I had to say
He sat alone drinking down at the end, so I bought us a round me and the gentleman
He said, well thank you son, don’t know where I belong
When all I see is for the young
I said I understand I’m bitter too
He goes “though this is the problem with the youth”
You’re acting like it’s over babe but I’m still wide awake
You’re laughing like it’s over baby I’m still wide awake
I caught a glimpse of myself as a young man, ugly as shit with uncompromising apathy
He settled in then he turned my way and asked, what ever happened to better days
Am I to blame for this fucked up brain I don’t see flowers through the rain
I said I hear you brother through and through but listen
This is the problem with the youth
It’s all relative and relatively lame
No time for aging no time for wasting no time for change
Yeah we could beat up on our past and future fates
But I propose we take this moment to refrain
Cuz we still have today
